The main reason I have decided to start an independent record label is to release my original music (for now) and possibly the music of other creative musicians and bands from this region or wider who cannot get a break from the leading labels - major or independent.
I myself have played in bands (Genaro Flores, Con Fusion...) that unfortunately were not recognized for their creativity on the Croatian music scene or by record labels because they did not fit into the standards preferred by the music industry at the time they emerged.
Another reason why we could not get a deal is limited market for such music in Croatia.
Distribution and sales have changed considerably lately. Regardless of the problem of illegal file sharing and downloads, we are constantly witnessing an emergence of new ways of selling music digitally. Besides digital formats there is still a large number of sales of physical CDs but they are already available online. Taking this into consideration as well as the recent sales and discounts in CD shops we can conclude that conventional distribution channels will continue to lose significance.
For these reasons Zivaldo focuses solely on online distribution.
